Elisabeth Kaplan was born in Simkistan and surprised her whole family with her red hair. Her mother was suspected of bravery but after long research it was discovered that her great-great-grandmother had red hair herself. Mystery solved.
Her husband Mustafa was fascinated by her 'exotic' looks and decided on the spot that she had to be his wife. Soon after they married, still in Simkistan and their first daughter Ebru was born.
Elisabeth is devastated that she wasn't able to give birth to Mustafas son and hates his second wife with a passion. She encouraged Ebru to not marry too soon, much to the disliking of her husband but that was the one exception to her general submission to his plans.
